Vermilion - Jean E. Hunker (nee Seneff), 84, of Vermilion, died Monday, June 9, 2003 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph after a lengthy illness. She was born November 4, 1918 in Lorain, Ohio. She has been a Vermilion resident for the past 35 years. She was a member of the First Congregational Church, Lorain where she taught Sunday School and helped produce the church newsletter. She had been the president of the Volunteers and head of the Candy Stripers at Community Health Partners and Surgical Center. She had been on the hospital Board of Directors. She had been the head of the Lorain Broadway Review (Follies). When she was younger, she enjoyed volunteering at the Election Booths.. She enjoyed reading, traveling, and following current events. She traveled to Egypt last year and to Turkey in 2000. She is survived by 3 daughters, Joyce Desrosiers of Green, OH; Gloria Jean Johnston of Crandon, WI and Laurel Koba of Huron, a brother Richard P. Hunker of Henderson, NV, 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard P. Hunker in 1988; a brother, Burt D. Seniff, son in law, Donald Desrosiers; sister-in-law Janice Cunningham and her parents Alva E. Seneff and Elizabeth (nee Schneider) Seneff. Friends may call Thursday from 11a.m. -1 p.m. and 4-6 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Services will be held at the Riddle Funeral Home, Thursday, June 12, 2003, at 6 p.m.. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion..
