Jean Miller

Jean Miller (nee Lindsley), 81, of Ashland, died Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at Arbors of Mifflin, Mansfield after a lengthy illness. She was born March 11, 1938 in Sandusky and graduated from Vermilion High School in 1957.  Jean had been an Ashland resident for the past 5 years moving from Vermilion where she had been a life long resident. Jean was a member of the Vermilion United Church of Christ Congregational where she was a long time member of the choir, Mamaru Women's Group, and helped with the Vacation Bible School.  She enjoyed watching her children participate in all of their school activities.  She was a room mother and volunteered as a chaperone on many school field trips.  She loved to send greeting cards and show pictures of her grandchildren.  She also liked pot luck dinners and spending time with family and friends. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Richard Miller of Ashland; son, Patrick (Christine) Miller of Ashland; daughter, Kathy (James) Klostermeyer of Edgewater, FL; 7 grandchildren: Paul Miller, Alison Nguapha, Daniel Miller, Jeremie White, Josh White, Kyle Lawson, and Kayla Lawson; and her brother, Warren (Janet) Mehnert of Vermilion. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sherman Kent and Olive Jeanette (nee French) Lindsley; son, Michael Miller in 2015, and her sister, Betty Lo Presti. The family will  receive friends on Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2019  from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 7:00 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street Vermilion Ohio.  The Reverend Melinda Quellhorst will officiate.  Graveside services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2019 at 1 p.m. at Brownhelm Cemetery, Vermilion.
