Jean C. Shagie

Jean C. Shagie (nee Tillack), 70 of Lorain, died Sunday, December 30, 2007 at Community Health Partners in Lorain following a long illness. She was born March 7, 1937 in Elyria and has lived in Lorain since 1968, moving from Elyria. She graduated from Elyria High School in 1954 and from the MB Johnson School of Nursing in Elyria as a licensed practical nurse. She worked as an LPN at Elyria Memorial Hospital from 1967-1969. She was a member of the Catholic Church of St. Peter in Lorain and enjoyed flower gardening and caring for her pet cats and dog. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Donald J. Shagie; son, Keith Shagie of Lorain; brother, Jack Tillack of Lorain. She was preceded-in-death by her parents, William and Mary (nee Swetz) Tillack. Friends may call Thursday, January 3, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Dombrowski-Humphrey-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain, Ohio. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 4, 2008 at 10:00 am at the funeral home with the Rev. Kenneth Wolnowski, paster of the Catholic Church of St. Peter, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary' s Catholic Cemetery, Elyria.
