Jeanne A Pauly

January 17, 1939 — March 3, 2024

Jeanne Ann Pauly (nee Palmer), 85, of Vermilion, passed away  Sunday, March 3, 2024 at Mercy New Life Hospice after a brief illness.

She was born January 17, 1939 in Lansing, MI and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 62 years.

Jeanne worked for Vermilion Schools as the Director of Adult Basic Education, a Vermilion Preschool Teacher, and was the school Librarian before she retired in 2001.

She had a variety of interests including being an active 50 year member of Grace United Methodist Church, Ladies of Grace Bible Study, Salvation Army Backpack program, former member's of the Vermilion College Club, the Red Hats Club, and a volunteer for many of her children and grandchildren's activities. Her love of nature was evident in her passion for gardening and her volunteer work with the Metro Parks. She enjoyed  baking, canning, painting, music and dancing. Above all, her greatest love was for her family.

She is survived by her high school sweetheart of over 70 years, David  Pauly and their five children, Kathryn  (Scott) Osborne, Stephanie (Jeff) Barton, Rebecca (Paul) Garrigan,  David (Paula) Pauly and Vera (Chris) Schaeffer. Her legacy continues with her 16 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, also survived by her brothers, Douglas (Elaine) Palmer and Bruce (Candy) Palmer and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Vera (nee Hopkins) Palmer.

In accordance with Jeanne's wishes, a private family service will be held. Jeanne wanted her memory to be positive and uplifting in the same way she lived her life. Her guidance, love and support for others will continue to live on within each of us.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jeanne's memory may be made to Ladies of Grace, New Life Hospice, or the Lorain Metro Parks.
