Jeffrey Garcia

Jeffrey "Big Jeff" Scott Garcia, 68, of Vermilion, died Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at Mercy Regional Medical Center after a sudden illness. He was born Oct. 15, 1952 in Elyria and had been a life long Vermilion resident. Jeffrey worked for Ford Motor Co., Lorain for 30 years and Ford Motor Co., Avon for 4 years, retiring as in Inspector in 2006. He was a member of the UAW 425 and UAW 2000. Jeffrey was a Classic Rock enthusiast and would play it every chance he got. He enjoyed taking drives with his dog and watching sports, especially when his grandson was playing. He took advantage of his "Big Boy" size and played Santa for over 30 years. He was know for wearing his shorts year round and taking off his shirt to get a tan every time the sun came out. He is survived by his son, Adam Garcia of Vermilion; daughter, Brittany Garcia of Elyria; grandson, Trenton; wife, Willetta Garcia of Vermilion; and his sister, Joan Jackson of Lorain. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Jeanne (nee Sadowski) Garcia and his brother, Bryan Garcia. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 22, 2021 from 3-7 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Friends and family who want to come are welcome to attend, but due to Covid-19, we are asking that people be careful to maintain social distancing, wear masks, and refrain from embracing.
