Jerry Calamia, 60, of Vermilion, died Friday, October 25, 2013 at Medina Hospital. Jerry was born January 28, 1953 in Brooklyn, NY. Jerry worked for Elyria Foundry as a Sand Lab and Yard Supervisor for 29 years. He enjoyed playing the guitar and playing cards with friends, traveling and spending time with family. He is survived by his wife Dee of 30 years; Children, Katelyn Calamia, Shannon (Tim) Partin, Danny (Tammy) Akers, and Dusty Akers; and Grandchildren, Jayde, Carrington, Kamden, and Brinley and favorite Uncle, Libby (Sandy) Calamia of Philadelphia, PA. He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Jean Calamia; and brother Anthony Calamia. The family will receive friends Saturday, November 2nd from 10:00 a.m. until the time of a memorial service at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church 731 Exchange St., Vermilion.
