Jerry Wayne Jones

Jerry Wayne Jones, 58 of Vermilion, died Wednesday, December 31, 2008 in Oak Hills Nursing Center, Lorain after a lengthy illness. He was born August 6, 1950 in Memphis, TN and has been a Vermilion resident for the past 50 years. Jerry worked at the Lorain Steel Mill for 37 years. He was a member of the Harbourtown Community Church, Vermilion. He enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, playing chess, going to the movies and especially his dog. Survivors include his son, Jason Jones of Cathage, NY; brothers, Terry Jones of Vermilion, and Billy Jones of Elyria, sisters, Linda Susan Ross of Cleveland and Carol Ann Snell of Huron, and step-granddaughter, Ashley Kimmel and niece Stephanie Jones. Preceding him in death were his parents, Billy and Blanche Jozue (nee Hanna) Jones. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at 4 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South St. Vermilion, OH 44089 with the Rev. Jim Cooper, pastor of Harbourtown Community Church, officiating.
