Jerry C. Neiding, 67, of Vermilion , died Sunday, November 23, 2008 at Community Health Partners West , Lorain after a sudden illness. He was born March 8, 1941 in Sandusky and was a lifelong Vermilion resident. . He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and American Legion Post 22, Vermilion. He enjoyed playing cards and was an avid bowler and fisherman. He had enjoyed water skiing and spending time with his grandchildren. He retired as a computer records specialist for Invacare in 2006 after 22 years. He had also worked for American Standard (Tappan), Elyria, Koehring, Lorain and Ford Motor, Lorain. He had built homes with his father in the construction trade as a young man. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sandra K. (nee Yeamans); son, Christopher J. (Patti) Neiding of Vermilion; daughters, Teresa L.(Michael) Chapman of Wilmington , NC daughter, Leslie A. (Robert) Sexstella of Vermilion , and Debra L. (Fred) Yost of Vermilion; grandchildren, Jessica Tyson, Kyle Neiding, William, Hope, Kevin and Hannah Sexstella; Tyler and Jake Yost, Addison Painter, Barrett and Casey Yost; great-granddaughter, Bridgette Marie Green; sister, Darlene Short, Lorain, Stepsister, Sharon Furgason, New Jersey and step brother, Dale Zaletel. Preceding him in death were his parents, Conrad and Mildred ( nee Cothern) Neiding; stepmother, Lillian Neiding and brothers, Ronald and Richard Neiding. Friends may call Wednesday, November 26, 2008 from 4 -8 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3747 Liberty Ave., Vermilion, Friday, November 28, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. The Reverend Terry Parker, pastor, will officiate.
