Jerry Lee Smith

Jerry Lee Smith, 66, of Vermilion, died Sunday, March 11, 2012 at Fisher-Titus Hospital, Norwalk, after a lengthy illness. Jerry was born June 9, 1945 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Vermilion resident. He was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard serving on the Mackinaw. He attended Stautzenberger College, Toledo, and enjoyed sports, roller skating, bicycle riding, and music. He played guitar, mandolin and banjo and enjoyed collecting coins, tools and books. He is survived by his father, Ralph Smith of Vermilion; sister, Susan (David ) Terken of Vermilion and nieces, Laneen & Tonya. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mae Alice (nee Evans) Smith. A Private Graveside Service will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion. The Vermilion Veterans Council will conduct military honors. Online condolences may be made at www.riddlefuneralhome.com.
