Jerry A. Stanley

Jerry A."Buddy" Stanley, 73, of Lorain, died Sunday, August 20, 2006 in Community Health Partners West after a six month illness. He was born October 27, 1932 in McRoberts, KY and has been a Lorain resident for 52 years. He worked as a cable maker for Watteredge - Uniflex in Avon Lake, Ohio for 36 years retiring in 2002. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was life member and Past Commander of the Sheffield Lake AMVETS Post 55 and VFW Post 8686 . He enjoyed yard work and he was avid Green Bay Packers Fan. He is survived by his wife, Joan Stanley; 3 sons, Robert Stanley of Amherst, Timothy Stanley of Lorain, and Kieth Stanley of Somerset, KY; 3 daughters, Jerry Hoskinson of Somerset, KY, Rhonda Pagan of Lorain, and Anita Spicer of Vermilion, 19 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Louise Carroll of Kissimmee , FL, Georgeann Belcher of Lady Lakes, FL and Emily Dixon of Pikeville, KY, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Bertha (nee Guess) Stanley; brother, Orville Stanley and sisters, Bessie Smeltzer and Judy Bartley. The family will receive friends, Wednesday, August 23, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Services will be held at the Riddle Funeral Home, Thursday, August 24, 2006, at 11 am. The Reverend Daniel Tackett, pastor of the Green Pastures Baptist Church in Amherst will officiate.
