Jesse "Andy" Andrew VanDeusen, 52, of Vermilion, died Friday, October 24, 2003 in Community Health Partners West, Lorain, after a one year illness. He was born June 9, 1951 in Harvard, Ill. and has been a Vermilion resident for the past 5 years moving from Hinckley and Brunswick in Medina County. He worked as a truck driver for E & L Transport, Vermilion, the past 20 years. He was a member of the Teamsters Local # 964 and Vermilion American Legion Post # 397. He enjoyed boating, fishing, and water-skiing. He is survived by his mother, Pat VanDeusen-Mentzer of Hinckley; his father, Hubert VanDeusen of McLaughlin, SD; a sister, Kathleen Kuzior of McLaughlin, SD; brother, Martin "Troll" VanDeusen, Colorado Springs, CO; and step son, Nick Garano of Brunswick, OH. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6-9 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, October 29, 2003 at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, 1605 Center Road, Hincklye, Ohio at 1 p.m. The Reverend Phil Cummings will officiate. Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association Northwest Ohio , 1689 East 115 Street, Cleveland, Ohio 44106-3988.
