Joan Jakubowski, 67 of Lorain, died Tuesday, December 25, 2007 in St. John West Shore Hospital following a brief illness. She was born November 19, 1940 in Lorain and has been a lifelong resident. She was a lifetime member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Lorain where she served as a Eucharistic minister. She was employed by Chase Bank in Westlake for the past 47 years as a customer service representative. She enjoyed travel, collecting religious mementos and caring for her pets. She is survived by her brother, James J. Jakubowski, Jr. of Lorain; a niece and nephew; several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded-in-death by her parents, James and Mary (nee Mazur) Jakubowski. Friends may call on Friday, December 28, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Dombrowski-Humphrey-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain. Closing prayers will be said at the funeral home on Saturday at 9:30 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 418 W. 15th Street, Lorain. Fr.Ted Marszal, Fr. Gerald Keller and Deacon Bob Dybo, will concelebrate. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
