Joan Sharp

Joan Sharp (nee Ottino), 79, of Vermilion, died Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at Parkvue Heath Care Center after a lengthy illness. Joan was born Feb. 25, 1932 in Dayton, OH and has been a Vermilion resident for the past 17 years moving from Beavercreek, OH. She worked as a secretarial administrative assistant at Wright Patterson Air Force Base for 35 years retiring in 1992. She has also worked for the Vermilion Local Schools as a secretary. Joan enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles. She is survived by her daughters, Terri (Tom) Barthel of Vermilion and Susan Sharp of Centerville, OH; grandchildren, Sherrie (Lewis) Mayer, Louisville, KY, T. J. (Laura) Barthel, Richmond, KY, Summer (Jamie) Warzinik of Vermilion and step granddaughter, Stacey (John) Edwards of Vermilion; great-grandchildren, Dylan and Brinklie Mayer, Emma and Whitley Barthel; step great grandchildren, Kortney and Dalton Edwards; sisters, Rosemary Bishop of Oregon, Eleanor Sarris of Stockton, CA and Betty Ottino of Somerset, KY, and brothers, Bill and Jim Ottino. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Myrtle (nee Erfurth) Ottino and 2 brothers. Private services will be held.
