Joanne "Carole" Majjasie (nee Kapron), 75, of Lorain, died Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at the Cleveland Clinic after a lengthy illness. ã Carole was born June 2, 1940 in Lorain where she has been a life long resident. ã She was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Lorain. Carole enjoyed playing bingo, bowling, baking, doing crossword puzzles, and ceramics. Carole is survived by her children, Lynne Popik of Lorain, Kristine (Scott) Campana of Lorain, Jerry (Nicole) of Amherst, and Cherie (Mike) Matos of Amherst; grandchildren, Jackie, David, TJ, Chris, Brittany, Vinnie, Talia, Jerry, Liza, Gia, Sophie, Carl, and Sean; great-grandchildren, Savannah and Mason; sons in law; Dave Popik and Terry Wohlever; sister, Judy (Larry) Krupp; niece, Sheila Krupp; and nephews, Mike and Larry Krupp. ã She was preceded-in-death by her husband, Gerald T. Majjasie in 2009, daughter, Carleen Wohlever in 2014 and parents, Carl and Helen (Malanowski) Kapron. ã Friends may call on Sunday, Jan. 24, 2016 from 2-6 pm at the Dombrowski-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain. Closing prayers will be said at the funeral home on Monday at 9:30 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 418 W. 15th Street, Lorain. Reverend Robert J. Glepko will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain. ã In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the donor's choice. ã
