Joseph William Grisez, 35 of Amherst, died Sunday, April 29, 2007 as the result of an automobile accident. He was born April 5, 1972 in Parma, Ohio. He has been an Amherst resident for past 4 years moving from Vermilion. He was the owner of Joe Grisez Automotive and Marine Inc. in Vermilion. He had previously worked for Elyria Foundry as a mill wright for 11 years. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Vermilion. He enjoyed boating, motorcycles, sports cars, drag racing, animals, waterskiing, jet skiing, bowling and especially loved kids. He is survived by his wife of 4 1/2 years, Jennifer (nee Brunson) Grisez, his best friend J.J. and his father and step mother, Edward Sr. & Doreen Grisez of Largo, FL; mother and step father, Mary Ann Grisez & John Knoll of Vermilion, 2 brothers, Edward W. Grisez Jr. of Oberlin, and Michael W. Grisez of Elyria, 3 sisters, Christine Marie Mitchell of Taylorsville, NC, Michelle Burdette of Elyria, and Charlie Marie Lopez of North Ridgeville, and 25 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Michael and Mary Sladick and paternal grandparents, Elaine and Wilford Grisez. The family will receive friends on Wednesday May 2, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Prayers will be said at the funeral home on Thursday May 3, 2007 at 12 Noon followed by a 12:30 Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Catholic Church.
