John A. Rhoades

John Andrew Rhoades, 54 of Vermilion, died Friday, Dec. 15, 2006 at his home after a sudden illness. He was born June 24, 1952 in Elyria and has been a Vermilion resident for the past 46 years, moving from Sheffield Lake. He worked as a painter and had worked for several painting companies including: G&B Painting, Vermilion, Pro Coating, Akron, and Jensen Painting of North Olmsted. He had also worked at Lorain Ship Yard. He was a member of the Sons of Amvets, Post #22, Vermilion. He was an avid camper and enjoyed watching the Cleveland Browns. Survivors include his son, Jason Rhoades of Vermilion; daughter, Janice Rhoades-Temple of Vermilion; 3 grandchilren; brothers: Gary Rhoades of Vermilion, Robert Keller of Las Vegas, NV, and Charles Keller of Wickliffe; sisters, Janet Knittle of Vermilion, Diane Reer of Norwalk, Joan Calamia of Vermilion, and Marilyn Oliver of Vermilion. Preceding him in death were his parents, Clarence "Dusty" and Marie (nee Wolcott) Rhoades; son, John Rhoades, and brother, Thomas Keller. Services will be private.
