John "JD" Damron, 61, of Vermilion, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at his home following a lengthy illness.
He was born July 7, 1964, in Detroit, and had made Vermilion his home for more than 50 years.
JD worked as a mechanic for many years, operating out of his own garage before recently opening JAM Auto in Vermilion. He took great pride in his work and was known for his strong work ethic, mechanical knowledge, and willingness to help others.
He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, working on cars, and spending time with family and friends. John was known for his great sense of humor and his love for ice cream sandwiches and Mountain Dew.
He is survived by his children, Nicole (Alexander) Watson, Brandon Damron, and Aaron Damron; nine grandchildren; his sister, Alice Williams; twin sister, Wanda Kelly; and uncle, Michael Hall.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Cecil Valentine Damron (nee Wingrove); and the mother of his daughter, Lori Furline.
