John Albert Rhoades, 27 of Vermilion , died Friday, April 22, 2005 at his home after a 3 year illness with cancer. He was born August 10, 1977 in Amherst, Ohio and has been a life long resident of Vermilion. He worked in the maintenance department at the Great Lakes Historical Society/ Inland Seas Maritime Museum, Vermilion. He was a graduate of Vermilion High School Class of 1996, where he participated on the wrestling and football teams. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and bicycling. Survivors include his parents, Donna (nee Pine) & Russell Molnar of Vermilion, father, John Rhoades of Vermilion, 3 brothers, Larry Kamps of Vermilion, Steve & Samantha Kamps of Vermilion, and Jason & Christy Rhoades of Vermilion, and 1 sister, Janice & Ryan Rhoades-Temple of Vermilion; maternal grandparents, Joanne & Don Pine of Vermilion; paternal grandmother, Marie Rhoades of Vermilion; step grandparents, Jan & Dawn Molnar of Vermilion; 2 nieces and a nephew; and several aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Clarence Rhoades. Friends may call Sunday April 24, 2005 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home 5345 South St. Vermilion. Private family services will be held. Interment will follow in Peaks Cemetery, Huron.
