Jomarie Virgin

JoMarie Virgin (nee Shimrock), 82, of Vermilion, OH passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family.

She was born on January 31, 1943 in Marianna, Pennsylvania and had made Vermilion her home for the last 62 years.

JoMarie was a graduate of Jefferson High School, Jefferson, PA, member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Altar Rosary Society. She was a Girl Scout/Boy Scout leader; softball coach; PTA President; Vermilion Athletic Booster Club; She also enjoyed working for her dear friend, Captain Larry.

JoMarie prided herself as being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She enjoyed cooking delicious meals and scrumptious desserts for her family to enjoy.

She is quoted saying, "The best thing my hands have held were my precious babies. Then later my wonderful grandchildren. Then came my beautiful greats! Life was good for these old hands. The worst was when I lost the hands of my husband."

She will be deeply missed by her children, Tamara (Kirk) Horton, Michelle (Rodney) Deichler, and Michael Virgin, all of Vermilion. Grandchildren: Kristopher (Kellsey) Horton, Matthew (Kate) Deichler, Nicholas Deichler, Michael Virgin, Madison Virgin, Sydney Virgin, Cole (Hannah) Virgin, Reese (Caine) Zannoni; great-grandchildren: Marloe Virgin, Brooklyn, Cameron, Kali Deichler; Krieger, Kirkleigh and Kixx Horton, Silas Zannoni and William Peters. She is also survived by her brother, Pete (Judi) Shimrock; sister, Lisa (Brian) Mitchell; sister-in-laws, Joan Steinmiller, Judy Virgin, Agatha Virgin, Nancy Gray, Cindy (Carl) Stewart; brother-in-law, Ron Virgin and many special nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by the love of her life, husband, James Virgin; son, Timothy James Virgin; parents, Peter and Helen Shimrock.

There will be no services per her wishes.
