Jon M. Piskur, 81 and Jeraldine ‶Jerry″ Piskur (nee Parrish), 78, both of Vermilion, passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2021 and Friday, Jan. 15, 2021 at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland both after a short illness with COVID-19 related complications. He was born August 27, 1939 in Lorain and had been a life-long Vermilion resident. She was born Nov. 1, 1942 in Brady, TX and had been a Vermilion resident since 1961. Jon graduated from Vermilion High School in 1957 and proudly served in the United States Air Force from ’57-’61 in Texas where he met his bride to be Jeraldine ‶Jerry″. Jerry graduated from Cross Plains High School, TX in 1960 and had worked in quality control for Crompton and Knowles for 20 years before finishing her career working for Kohl's at the jewelry counter. Jon and Jerry both then worked part time for Vermilion Local School District for a couple of years as hall monitors. Jon and Jerry both could always be found around the little league ball fields coaching their son’s teams as they grew up. They were both avid Cleveland sports fans and in their final years, enjoyed senior citizen bus trips together to interesting places around the country. They were both particularly fond of spending time with their grandchildren. They enjoyed many years bowling in the Saturday Night Couples league in Vermilion and you could always count on Jon for a good prank or joke. Jon and Jeraldine ‶Jerry″ were married for 59 years and are survived by their three sons, Mitchell (Debbie) of Medina, Richard (Theresa) of Vermilion, and Robert (Kim) of North Royalton; five grandchildren, Shane, Valerie (Chad) Martin, Violet, Torie and Nolan; two great-grandchildren, Addison and Jaxon; Jerry’s sister, Mary Graham of Abilene, TX; two nieces, Wendy Banas and Lori Koethe in Ohio; and many more nieces and nephews in Texas.
