Jonathan T Hunter, 25, of Vermilion, died Friday, March 3, 2023 at Mercy Regional Medical Center after a sudden illness.

He was born March 2, 1998 in Oberlin, OH to Sherry and Jim Hunter.  He had been a Vermilion resident for the past 4 years moving from LaGrange, KY where he grew up.

Jonathan had worked various jobs in the area including his favorite, being a dock hand at Rock and Dock, behind the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in downtown Cleveland.

When he was young, he had enjoyed  BMX bike racing with his brother and father.  He raced for Derby City, in Louisville, KY  for the Blue Grass Bike Club.   He also loved listening to music, playing the drums and going to concerts. He was an avid gamer.

He is survived by his mother, Sherry A. Hunter; brother, James "Jimmy" B. Hunter of Vermilion;  paternal grandmother, Barbara R. Hunter of Vermilion; paternal grandfather, Robert (Barbara) Hunter of Brandon, MS;  maternal grandmother, Nancy Kucharik of FL; uncle Rob (Jennifer) Hunter of Wakeman;  aunt, Erica Hurst;  great aunt, Mary Ann  Shuman Carroll; and his cousin, Krystal Zarambo.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Robert Hunter in 2011 and his maternal grandfather John  Kucharik.

The family will receive friends on Friday,  March 17, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. until the time of a memorial service at 6:00 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, OH 44089.

The family suggest memorial contributions to Friendship Animal Protective League of Lorain County, Inc., 8303 Murray Ridge Rd., Elyria, OH 44035.
