Joseph Antosiak, age 88, of Lorain, died Saturday, September 10, 2005 at his home following a longtime illness. He was born on June 3, 1917 in Swewice, Poland and has lived in Lorain since 1956, moving from England. He worked at Lorain Products and retired in 1983. He served with the Allied Forces as sergeant during WWII with the First Armored Division and took part in the invasion of France campaign through Belgium, Holland and Germany. He was a member of the Polish Legion of American Veterans Post 38 in Lorain, Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Lorain and its Holy Name Society. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Marianne Antosiak; daughter, Dorothy Wayman of Winter Springs, FL; sons, Mark Antosiak of Howell, MI and Raymond Antosiak of Oklahoma City, OK; grandson, Daniel Wayman; several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, Jan and Marianne Antosiak, brothers, Stanley and Miejek and sister, Ola. Friends may call Monday, September 12, 2005 from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the Dombrowski-Humphrey-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain. Members of the Holy Name Society and of the church will have a memorial rosary said at 7:00 pm. Prayers will be said at the funeral home at 9:30 am Tuesday, followed by a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 418 W. 15th Street, Lorain. The Reverend David Novak and Deacon Robert J. Dybo will co-celebrate. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery with military honors provided by D.A.V. Louis Paul Proy Chapter 20.
