Joseph George Hohman

. Joseph George Hohman, age 83 of Vermilion, OH passed away December 28, 2015 at his home. He is survived by his dearly beloved wife, Rosanna ("Nan") (nee Metzger) Hohman of 62 years; loving father of Vicki (Robert) Williamson of Akron, OH; Timothy (Lenore) "Lee" of Avon, OH; Rebecca (Jerry) Droll of LaRue, OH; Joseph (Christine) Hohman of Huron, OH; William (Joyce) of Vermilion, OH; brother Dwain Hohman of Ottawa, OH; Marjorie Myers of St. Mary's, OH; Patricia Briggs and Sharon Williams of CA; 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren and many extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Nicholas and Margaret (nee Borer) Hohman; brother Robert Hohman of CA, daughter Mary Elizabeth Hohman, son Terrence Hohman and grandson Carlos Hohman. He was born in Fremont, OH and had been a Vermilion resident for 61 years. Joe graduated from Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio with a degree in Pharmacy. He worked as a Pharmacist for 45 years at Harts Corner Drugstore in Vermilion. Joe and A.H. (Jim) Hart raised and lowered the flag daily across the street at Exchange Park. Joe also worked at Higgins Drugstore as well as the Medicine Shop and Vintage Pharmacy in Vermilion. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church where he served as a Eucharistic Minister and served many funeral masses. Joe was a Charter Member of the Vermilion Council 4539 Knights of Columbus where he served as Financial Secretary for 52 years. He was also a 4th Degree Knight of the Bishop Machebuef Assembly where he served as a Faithful Navigator. He was an accomplished woodworker, and an avid sports fan at his children's and grandchildren's sporting events. The family will receive friends at the Riddle Funeral Homes 5345 South Street in Vermilion, OH from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm on Wednesday December 30, 2015. Prayers will be said Thursday, December 31, 2015 at 9:30 am at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 731 Exchange St., Vermilion, OH. Father Ron Brickner and Grandson Father Nicholas Droll will concelebrate the mass. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Vermilion, OH.
