Julia Margaret Winson (nee Kotora), 89, of Vermilion, died Sunday, May 13, 2012 at New Life Hospice, Lorain after a lengthy illness. She was born February 19, 1923 in Lakewood, and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 60 years moving from Michigan. Julia worked for Thew Shovel as a Machinist for 30 years. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Vermilion and AMVETS Post #22. She enjoyed baking, crocheting, watching baseball, and playing BINGO. She is survived by her daughters, Joyce Winson of Vermilion and Kathy ( Don) Reasor of Houston, TX, sister, Anna Chapko of St. John's, MI; grandchildren, Brittney Kitts of Grove City, OH and Robert Doman of Houston, TX.; former husband, Robert Winson; and several nieces and nephews including niece, Donna Baughman. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ignace and Pauline (nee Bagan) Kotora; sons, David Winson in 1957 and Robert Winson Jr. in 1990; an infant daughter, and brothers, Mike and Dominic Kotora. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 17, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street Vermilion Ohio. Prayers will be said on Friday, May 18, 2012 at 10 a.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 731 Exchange St., Vermilion. The Reverend Ronald Brickner will officiate. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
