Karen M. Scott (nee Haber), 81, of Vermilion, passed away Monday, November 2, 2026, at Kingston of Vermilion following a lengthy illness.
She was born May 27, 1945, in Lorain, Ohio, and had been a Vermilion resident for many years, moving from Lorain.
Karen began her career as a hairdresser before devoting her time and energy to what she lovingly considered her most important role, being a "domestic goddess." She took great pride in creating a warm and welcoming home and caring for her family. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Karen found happiness in life's simple pleasures and the time she shared with those she loved.
She was a member of Harbourtown Community Church and enjoyed knitting blankets, tending to her garden, and traveling with her husband, Rodger. Together, they especially enjoyed taking cruises, creating wonderful memories throughout their travels.
She is survived by her sons, Bret Scott and Rick Scott; grandsons, Nathan and Alex; and brother, Richard (Patty) Haber.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rodger Scott, in March 2026; parents, Arland and Elizabeth (nee Schroeder) Haber; and brothers, Eugene Haber and Dale Haber.
The family will receive friends on Friday, November 6, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 6:00 p.m. at Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio.
The family suggests memorial contributions to a veterans organization of the donor's choice.
