Katherine M. Skodney

Katherine M. Skodney (nee Stantion ), 95, of Lorain, died Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Welcome Nursing Home, Oberlin, OH where she had been a resident since 1999. Katherine was born August 9, 1917 in Bedford, OH. She had been a Lorain resident since 1940. Katherine was a homemaker, and a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, the United Polish Club, and the Golden Agers of Lorain. She was a devoted wife, a very loving mother and grandmother, she enjoyed playing cards, decorating, crafting, gardening and dancing. She is survived by daughters, Dian (John) Francway of North Ridgeville, and Roxane (Joseph) Bartish of Wellington; son, Hal (Carol) Skodney of Dover, Ohio; sister, Helen Scott of Florida; brother Peter Stantion of Elyria; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; many nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter J.Skodney in 1984; parents, Paul and Anna (nee Roustchuk) Stantion; sister, Mary Skorke, Rose Jacobs, Stella Hewitt; and brothers, John and Paul Stantion.
