Kathy J Januska

Kathy J. Januska (nee Hoover), 76, of Vermilion, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 12, 2026, following a brief illness.

She was born May 27, 1950, in Lakewood, Ohio, and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 13 years, moving from Avon Lake.

Kathy dedicated 35 years of her life to nursing before retiring in 2016. She found great joy in caring for others, both through her career and in her personal life.

Family was at the heart of everything Kathy did. She cherished her roles as a wife, mother and Nana and loved being present for her family's activities and special moments. She also enjoyed researching family history, reading, and knitting.

She is survived by her children, Michael (Angie Balbo) Januska, Molly (Shawn) Varga, and Megan Comley; and grandchildren, Haley and Justin Varga, and Riley, Taylor, and Elijah Comley.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Robert Januska, in 2025; her parents, William and Mary (nee Calvey) Hoover; and her son-in-law, Craig Comley.

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2026, from 5-7 p.m. at Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, OH 44089.
