Keith A. Massie

Keith A. Massie, 77, of Vermilion, died Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Mercy Regional Medical Center after a sudden illness. He was born February 4, 1938 in Lodi, OH, and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 14 years moving from Texas. Keith graduated from Northern Arizona University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He served his country for 26 years in the United States Army Signal Corps, retiring in 1985. He was a life member of AMVETS Post #22, Vermilion. Keith enjoyed crossword puzzles, gardening, collecting hats, watching sports, and building things. He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Shirley (nee Tanner) Massie of Vermilion; son, Timothy (Holly) Massie, MSGT of Fort Bliss, El Paso, TX, daughters, Tiffany Massie of Elkhart, IN and Tina Massie of Topeka, KS; 4 grandchildren, Sara, Jessica, Ross, and Noah; step daughters, Brenda Wallace and Gail (Jason) Pintur both of Vermilion; and a brother, Rev. A. Ray (Sylvia ) Massie of VA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Lucille (nee Trapp) Massie. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 5, 2015 from 12 Noon until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, OH. The Reverend A. Ray Massie will officiate. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, where the Vermilion Veterans Council will conduct military honors.
