Scroll down to watch the Memorial Tribute Video Kenneth "Ken" Ray Combs, 54 of Vermilion, died Tuesday, March 13, at the home of his sister after a lengthy illness. He was born May 8, 1952 in Nicholasville, KY and has been a Vermilion resident for most of his life. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and worked at Ford Motor Co., Lorain for 34 years, retiring in April 2006. He was a member of the UAW #425. He enjoyed playing pool, working on his house, was an avid bowler participating on several leagues including the UAW league, and especially enjoyed fishing. Survivors include his wife, Deborah Orr of Avon, son, Kenneth Ray Combs, Jr. of Vermilion; daughter, Melinda Rose Combs of Nicholasville, KY; grand-daughter, Kelsey Combs, step-daughters: Tracy Abfall of Spencer, Nancy Youngeberg of Homerville, OH, and Belinda Orr of Avon Lake, 4 step-grandchildren; sisters, Gwendolyn "Pat" Stowers of Vermilion, and Mary "Ronnie" Perkins of Nicholasville, KY, and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, John M. Sr. and Geneva (nee Steele) Combs; brother, John M. Combs, Jr. and a sister Jean Legg. Friends may call Friday March 16, 2007 from 12 Noon until the time of funeral Services at 4:00 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. The Vermilion Veterans Council will conduct military honors at 4:00 pm.
