Kenneth Kyle Haynie

Kenneth Kyle Haynie Sr., 81, of Vermilion, died Thursday, July 5, 2018 at his home after a brief illness with cancer. He was born May 8, 1937 in Waterford, Mississippi and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 60 years moving from Mississippi. Kenneth was a veteran of the US Army. He worked for Ford Motor Co., Lorain for 31 years, retiring in 1999. He had attended the First Baptist Church, Vermilion and was a member of AMVETS Post #22, American Legion Post #397, and the UAW #425. Kenneth enjoyed watching sports, golfing at the Vermilion Country Club, and like his "sarsaparilla's". He is survived by his daughters, Liz (Russ) Mayer of Vermilion, Johanna Dockham of GA; Sonja Haynie of LA, and Donna Christa Haynie of Vermilion; son, Ken (Beth) Haynie, Jr. of TN; 16 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; brother, Wayne Haynie of MS; sister, Oreane Ward of MS; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ruth Haynie in 2007; parents, Cecil E. and Mary J. (nee Oaks) Haynie; granddaughter, Savanah Nichole Haynie; brother, John Cecil Haynie; and his sisters, Aliane Riley, Marjorie Wright, Lazell Marshell, and Doris Wright. A veterans service will be held Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at 12:30 pm at AMVETS Post #22, 1517 State Rd, Vermilion, OH 44089. The family suggests memorial contributions to Mercy New Life Hospice 3500 Kolbe Road Lorain, OH 44053 or American Cancer Society Ohio Division Inc., 10501 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44106.
