Kenneth Paul Semrau, 67, of Vermilion, died Saturday, April 12, 2014 at his home after a lengthy illness. He was born March 1, 1947 in Buffalo, NY and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 31 years moving from Lorain. Kenneth worked for Ford Motor Co., Avon as a spray painter for 32 years and had also worked at Kyle Motors, Vermilion as a parts runner. He was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Church, Elyria, St. Mary Church, Vermilion, UAW 2000, Amherst Eagles Club, and AMVETS Post #22, Vermilion. He enjoyed painting cars, auto body work and restoration, carpentry, fishing and traveling to Buffalo, New York. He is survived by his wife, Dianna "Peggy" (nee Miller) Semrau of Vermilion, sons, Richard (Starr) Semrau of Swanton and Keith Alan (Kelly) Semrau of Columbus; grandchildren, Siena, Wyatt, Jacob, and Kayla; brothers, Robert Semrau of Lorain and Charles Semrau of Kingsport,TN; and brother of God, Kevin Story of Vermilion. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Pauline (nee Chumaj) Semrau. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, OH. Funeral services will be Thursday, April 17, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home. Rev. Jim Holmer will officiate. Interment will follow at Brownhelm Cemetery.
