Kenneth Blair Simpson

Kenneth Blair Simpson, 87, of Vermilion, died Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at his home.

He was born October 1, 1935 in Marion Center, PA and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 44 years moving from Amherst.

Kenneth was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Korean War.  He received his masters degree from Kent State and taught Special Education for Amherst School System for 30 years, retiring in 1998.  Kenneth was also known as the "Ice Cream Man", owning and operating Kapt'N Kenny ice cream truck in Vermilion and the surrounding areas for 12 years.  His favorite job after his retirement was working at Kalahari, Sandusky from 2006 until 2020 as a Bellman.

Kenneth was a busy body who was always working or tinkering on something.

He is survived by his daughters, Tacie Canterbury of Huron and Karen (Kyle) Spradley of Arlington, TX; son, Todd Simpson of Huston, TX; grandchildren, Justin, Ryan, Jackson, Hannah and Tatum; great grandson, Trey; and his sisters, Evelyn McCord of Marion Center, PA and Virginia`(Robert) Easley of Kittanning, PA

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Kaye Simpson; parents, Walter and Marion (nee Hamill) Ernest; and his brothers, Richard and Donald Simpson.

Private interment will take place at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst.
