Kevin Baker, 39, of Vermilion, died suddenly Thursday, August 27, 2015 at his home. He was born January 6, 1976 in Lorain, and had been a life long Vermilion resident. He was a staunch defender of animal rights and had an affinity for the boxer breed. He was preceded in death by Quinn and Thea and is survived by his loyal companion Sadie. He is also survived by his mother, Myrna (nee Sexton) Baker of Vermilion; sister, Gwen Courtney of Vandalia; brothers, Rick Baker of Maryville, TN; Alan Baker of Vermilion, Gary Baker of Dora, AL, and Scott Baker of Concord, NC; and many nieces and nephews who affectionately referred to Kevin as "Uncle Bubba" He was preceded in death by his father and maternal grandparents, Mary Belle and Oscar Douglas Sexton. The family will receive friends on Friday, Sept. 4, 2015 from 11:00 am until the time of a funeral service at 1:00 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street Vermilion OH. Pastor Jim Cooper will officiate. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion. The family suggests memorial contributions to Hope for Paws, 8950 W.
