Kristina Marie Savel

Kristina Marie Savel (nee Nagy), 47, of Vermilion, died Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born November 28, 1970 in Amherst and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 12 years moving from Lorain. Kristina had worked for Lorain Schools as a substitute special education paraeducator. She was a member and Elder of Harbourtown Community Church, Vermilion. Kristina enjoyed spending time with her family. Her passion was missionary work. She enjoyed helping others and helping others grow spiritually. She had a strong faith and a desire to serve the Lord. She is survived by her husband of 6 years, Steven Savel of Vermilion; mother, Linda (nee Todd) Smith; adopted father, Lawrence T. Nagy; father, Raymond (Angela) Dutro; step daughter, Ashley (Jay) Mann of Sheffield Village; sons; Derek Conti of Lakewood, Kelsey (McKinzee) Etter of Cleveland; step daughter, Tatem Savel of Parma; daughter, Alexia Dudek at home; and step son, Josiah Savel at home; sisters, Bethany (Alberth) Matos of Vermilion and Jennifer (Kevin Hardgrove) Nagy of Sandusky; and her brother, Brian (Marlene) Nagy of Westlake. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Arlene Marie and William Henry Todd; and paternal grandparents, Marian and Lawrence J. Nagy and Rosella Linden and Charles Dutro. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 from 4:00-8:00 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Friends may also call on Thursday, June 21, 2018 from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am at the funeral home. The Reverend Jim Cooper will officiate.
