Lana Sue Marcum (nee Murphy), 75, of Amherst, died Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at Mercy New Life Hospice after a lengthy illness.
She was born July 15, 1948 in Huntington, WV and had been a Amherst area resident for 55 years.
Lana dedicated 30 years of her life to Ford Motor Co., serving as an Assembler until her retirement in 2007.
A devout member of the First Assembly of God in Vermilion, Lana's faith was an integral part of her life. She lived her life as a faithful follower of God, finding solace and strength in her spiritual beliefs. Lana also cherished simple pleasures, such as watching movies and basking in the warmth of the sunshine.
She is survived by her loving children, Deanna "DeeDee" Sherrard ,Christy Whitt, Darrin (Lisa ) Whitt , Rodney (Angela ) Whitt, and Michael Whitt; grandchildren, Tanya, Tiffany, Derek, Analecia, Alison, Isabelle, Landri, Michael, Emily, Nicholas and Matthew; 11 great grandchildren with 2 on the way; also survived by her sister, Deanna Simmons and brother, Jeff Murphy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Terry Lee Marcum; parents, William and Opal (nee Daniels) Murphy; and siblings, Terry Murphy, Dan Murphy, Penny Eastman, and Cheryl Thompson.
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 15, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Pastor Russ Nelson will officiate. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
