Larry Wilson Nabakowski, 84, of Carrollton Ohio passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at home surrounded by loved ones. Larry was born March 19, 1931 in Amherst, grew up in Birmingham, Ohio and was a resident of Carrollton for the past 13 years. Prior to owning his own company SPECS (Specialty Processing Equipment Consultants), a global business where his travels included a trip to Red China as one of the first businessmen invited to the country, Larry worked for Betchers Industries. Larry was a member of the Birmingham United Methodist Church, served as a church Elder, sang as a member of the Sandusky Men's Choir, and was a member of the Lions Club. Larry was an avid golfer and gardener and recognized for his skill both with the club and the beautiful landscapes he designed and created. Larry is survived by his wife of 66 years, Carol "Christy" F. (nee Galitz) Nabakowski of Carrollton, 4 daughters, Deborah (Randolph) McNealley of Cincinnati, Susan Rebecca Nabakowski of Carrollton, Robin Gaye Tokash of Carrollton, Heidi Jo (John) Macalaster of Delroy; son, Nicholas Tokash of Carrollton; 7 grandchildren, Zachariah (Heather) Bruno, Danielle (Jason) Wong; Noah Bruno, Joshua (Gina) Richlen, Victoria Tokash, Jamie Richlen and Shawn (Jamie) McNealley; 7 great grandchildren, Katherine, Elizabeth, Matthew, Calista, J.J. , Aiden, and Micah; brother, William "Bill" Nabakowski of IL, and his sister, Karen "Mitzy" Bates of Santa Barbara, CA. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Holly Jean Nabakowski, parents, John and Ora (nee Wilson) Nabakowski, brother, Jack Nabakowski, and sisters, Carol Swearingen and Sis Schieferstein. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 23, 2015, from 1 pm until the time of the service at 2:00 pm at the Birmingham United Methodist Church, 15018 South Street, Birmingham, The Reverend Richard K. Kretchmar will officiate. Interment will follow at Birmingham Cemetery, Birmingham.
