Laszlo M. Namath, 69 of Vermilion, died Saturday, July 17, 2004 at his home after a lengthy illness with cancer. He was born March 17, 1935 in Budapest Hungary and has been a Vermilion area resident for the past 40 years. He was an a Iron Worker, working out of the Iron Workers Local Union #17 and retired after 30 years He was a member of the Freedom Fighters during the Hungarian Revolution and also served in the Merchant Marines in Hungary. Mr. Namath was a loving father and grandfather who enjoyed painting, sailing, playing the guitar, and especially enjoyed reading. Survivors include 3 sons, Gordon Lawson of Augusta, GA, Laszlo M. Nemeth of Elyria, Walter Scott Nemeth of Vermilion; a daughter, Gina Wensink of Vermilion, and 7 grandchildren. Preceding him in death was his wife, Sandra Namath in 1998. Riddle funeral home is handling the arrangements. Private services will be held.
