Laura F Sokol

Laura F. Sokol (nee Smith), 73, of Vermilion, died Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at The Woods on French Creek after a lengthy illness.

She was born November 19, 1949 in Cleveland, OH and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 25 years.

Laura worked as a medical transcriptionists for Amherst Hospital and Elyria Memorial Hospital.

She enjoyed cars, traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren, Ingrid and Elinor.  She will be remembered as the keeper of the coffee pot, her perfect style, her great sense of humor, and her faith in the word, Believe.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Sokol in 1989 and her parents, Earl and Mary (nee Palla) Smith; sisters, Maryann Koceja and Earlene Fichel; brother, Clifford Smith; and her companion, Ronald Cooter Lewis.

Private family services will be held.
