LaVina Marks (nee Lumley), 95, of Wakeman, died Monday March 15, 2021 at Kirtland Rehabilitation and Care after a lengthy illness. She was born December 15, 1925, in Fitchville, and had been a Wakeman resident for 20 years moving from Vermilion. LaVina worked for Bendix, Elyria for many years. After retiring she worked for Meijer as a food demonstrator. She was a member of St. Mary Parish, Vermilion and enjoyed camping, crocheting, and planning monthly class reunions for the VHS class of 1944. She is survived by her husband of 20 years, William Marks of Wakeman; daughters, Linda Hart of Willoughby and Karen (Charles) Strausser, Lorain; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Stanley Kunaszewski; second husband, David Burkhard; parents, Loftin and Maude (nee Bach) Lumley; son, John Kunaszewski; granddaughter, Tammy Strausser; a sister; and two brothers. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 19, 2021 from 3-6 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Prayers will be said at the funeral home on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Parish, 731 Exchange Street, Vermilion, OH 44089. Friends and family who want to come are welcome to attend, but due to Covid-19, we are asking that people be careful to maintain social distancing, wear masks, and refrain from embracing. Mass will be live streamed at https://stmaryvermilion.org/mass-live-stream. Interment will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park.
