Lavonne Kathryn (Gerber) Croll, 74, of Corona, CA passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at her daughter's home in Ontario, CA. She was born May 21, 1934 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Sandusky. She was the youngest child of her parents, Frederick and Pearl (Fitch) Gerber who resided in Vermilion where Lavonne grew up and graduated from Vermilion High School in 1952. She worked at the former White Inn and Kroger's Grocery Store before she met her husband, Raymond Glen Croll of Birmingham, at a dance and married in May 1952. They had three children, Debra Lynn-1953, Raymond Glen Jr.-1955, and Linda Ann-1959, before moving to California in 1962. She became a devoted homemaker, mom and grandma. She is survived by her children, Debra Lynn Croll of Santa Ana, CA; Raymond Glen Croll Jr. and wife Susan Kay of Corona, CA; Linda Ann Tidwell of Ontario, CA; sister Irene (Gerber) Francis of Plain City, OH; 9 grandchildren: Peggy, Michael, Michelle, Brenda, Steven, Heather, Kristen, Shawn and Tara; 9 great-grandchildren: Amanda, Emile, Sarah, Zachary, Jonathan, Ellie, Reed, Cash and Beau; 2 great-grandchildren due to be born this year; and cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Preceding her in death was her husband of 47 years, Raymond Croll, 1999; her parents Fred and Pearl (Fitch) Gerber; brothers, Richard and Arthur; sisters, Lucille Tischer, Lila Stewart and Lela Nagy; half sister Katherine Schmidt; and half brothers, Leonard, Frederick -"Fritz", Donald and Nelson. Family and friends may attend grave side services at Birmingham Cemetery at 10 am on Thursday, May 14, 2009 Memorial contributions may be made in Lavonne's name to the American Cancer Society.
