Lawrence F. Flaczynski

Lawrence F. Flaczynski, 88, of Elyria, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Wesleyan Village in Elyria after a brief illness. Lawrence was born July 31, 1929 in Lorain, OH. he had been a Elyria resident for the past 3 years moving from Sheffield Village. He was a veteran of the US Navy serving as an ET2 aboard the USS Bordelon. Lawrence worked as an Electrical Engineer for Ford Motor Company for 14 years before retiring. He was a member of St. Teresa Avila Parish in Sheffield Village and AMVETS Post 47, Lorain. He enjoyed golfing, computer programming, gardening, growing orchids, softball, and skiing. He is survived by his sister, Irene Smith of Lorain; nieces and nephews, and many grand nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Helen (nee Stalinski) Flaczynski; brother, Alvin Flazynski; and niece Natasha Flazynski. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, April 6, 2018 at 10:00 am at St. Teresa of Avila Parish, 1878 Abbe Road, Sheffield Village, Ohio, 44054. Father Edward Smith will officiate. Inurnment will follow in St. Teresa Cemetery, Sheffield Village. Military Honors will be conducted by the Amherst Veterans Military Honor Guard.
