Lee Edward Ensinger, 86 of Vermilion, died Thursday, October 9, 2003 in the Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky after a lengthy illness. He was born June 26, 1917 in Cleveland, OH and has been a Vermilion resident for the past 70 years. Mr. Ensinger attended Collinwood High School, Cleveland and graduated from Vermilion High School. He was a Staff Sergeant in the US Army and was stationed in the Pacific Theater during WWII. Lee owned a small business, Vermilion Wood Products. He also worked as a salesman for Power Pak Conveyor Co., owned by his brother, Earl. He also had worked for Thew Shovel, Bettcher Industries, and retired from New Departure as a Tool and Die Maker in 1985. He had attended the Vermilion Evangelical & Reformed Church, Vermilion. He was a 50 year member of the Lyndhurst Masonic Lodge Post 508 A & FM., and enjoyed automobiles, working on anything with an engine. He built his own home and enjoyed building, and especially enjoyed spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife, Betty (nee Neff) Ensinger, a son, Gary Ensinger of Vermilion, OH; a daughter, Sandra Cannon of Vermilion, OH; a brother, Richard Ensinger of Mentor, OH. Preceding him in death were his parents, Charles and Nina (nee Palmer) Ensinger, and 2 brothers; Lester and Earl Ensinger; 3 sisters; Marjorie, Beatrice, and Grace; and one grandson, Christopher Ensinger in 1990.
