Leon Burns

Leon Burns, 80, of Vermilion, passed away on Friday, May 1, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 18, 1940 in Benton, IL, and had been a Vermilion resident most of his life. Leon had worked as a CNC Machinist for Invacare retiring in 2006. He retired from the Teamsters Union when he worked for Kerr Beverage and had also worked for Maurer Dairy for 25 years. He was a member of the Teamsters Union and enjoyed bowling, lighthouses and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by his daughter, Deborah Burns, of Lorain; sons, Ronald Burns of Lorain and Timothy Burns of Vermilion; grandchildren, Janice, Sara, Danny, Brian, Michael, and Kathy Jo; great grandchildren, Tyler, Jakob, Hailey, Ian, Jaxson, Austin, and Brody; sisters, Carol and Dorothy; his brother, Phillip Burns and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Ann Burns (nee Snezek). and his parents, James and Delta Jean (nee McDowell) Burns. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio, 44089, and will be held at a later date.
