Lester Kolozy

Lester Kolozy, 98, of Wakeman, died Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at Stein Hospice, Sandusky. Born July 5, 1912 in Lorain, he moved to Hungary at the age of 8 and moved back to Cleveland when he was 19. He had been a Wakeman resident for 25 years moving from LaGrange. Lester worked as a carpenter on various construction sites, and retired from Stanadyne, Elyria in 1974. He was a member of Our Lady of Lords Catholic Church, New London. He enjoyed dancing at the Lieder Krantz Club in Mansfield, hunting, reading, farming, and raising his dogs. Survivors include his daughters, Kathleen Neiding of Vermilion and Isabelle ( Joseph ) Zgonc of Slippery Rock, PA; grandchildren, Jacqueline (Ronald) David, Jeffrey (Jodi) Neiding, Joseph L. (Heather) Zgonc and Christina (George) Sent and great grandchildren, Ashley and Brandon David and Eleanor, Joseph A. and Helen Zgonc. He was preceded in death by his wife, Olga Catherine (nee Bizaj) Kolozy in 2002; parents, Laszlo and Bertha (nee Porkolab) Kolozsi. Friends may call Friday, February 4, 2011 from 4 - 8 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. There will be a Christian Wake Service at 4 p.m. Prayers will be said in the funeral home Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 731 Exchange Street, Vermilion.
