Lettie Pauline Koester

Lettie Pauline “Paula” Koester (née Hasley), 63, of Wakeman, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, November 8, 2025, after a lengthy illness.

She was born on July 12, 1962, in Lorain, Ohio, and had made her home in Wakeman for the past 13 years after moving from Millbury, Ohio.

Paula was a devoted member of the Wakeman Congregational Church. She had a love of music and creativity-singing, playing the piano, painting, quilting, and crafting. She enjoyed decorating her home for the holidays, especially for Easter and Christmas.

She is survived by her husband of 19 years, Neil Koester; stepchildren, Megan Koester, Jared (Liz) Koester and Trevor (Megan) Koester; grandchildren, Adrianna, Ronan and Henry; and siblings; Patricia (Mark) Stull, Peggy (Joseph) Armbruster and William (Sara) Hasley; and many cherished nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mary Hasley.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 13, 2025 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Funeral services will be Friday, November 14, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at the Wakeman Congregational Church, 14 Abbott Street, Wakeman, OH, 44889. Pastor Janet Ross will officiate. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
