Linda Marie Carone, age 60, passed away suddenly at home on Sunday, March 22.
She was born April 21, 1965 in Indianapolis, Indiana, and was a lifelong resident of Vermilion.
Linda was the much-loved daughter of Michael and Marie Carone (Pestolis), who predeceased her, and sister to Leslie and Larry (Cindy) Carone. She was predeceased by her cousin, Dena Pestolis. Linda was a devoted aunt to her nieces Anna, Elena, and Caroline, and her nephew Tommy. She had a large and wonderful family and was especially close with her cousins Karen Rose and Cathy Stewart. She loved her cat, Otis, and most all animals. Linda had a great sense of humor and a memorable laugh, and friends marveled at her prodigious memory (although Leslie often wished she’d forget a few things). She liked to make art and loved music, especially U2 and Duran Duran; our wonderful mom accompanied her to see them in concert at the Cleveland Coliseum. She also loved Barry Manilow and Neil Diamond, and Larry suspended his cynicism and took her to these concerts (where, Linda reported, he did wave the white wand). Linda enjoyed the occasional pina colada, and she loved the family’s holiday gatherings. Linda will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Linda recently declared herself “retired,” remaining very active with her friends and program at Community Connections. Her family extends deepest thanks to Community Connections and Ability Works for their years of support. Linda was a faithful member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Lorain.
