Linda Lou Messaros, 61 of Vermilion, died Saturday, January 20, 2007 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph in Lorain following a lengthy illness. She was born October 28, 1945 in Cambridge, Ohio and has lived in Vermilion since 1969, moving from Mansfield. She worked as a nursing assistant at Mill Manor Nursing Home in Vermilion from 1984-2003. She was an avid bowler, participating in various leagues, including the Saturday Night Couples League at Lake Erie Lanes. She served as a league secretary and treasurer for many years and was also a bowling coach. She enjoyed bingo, shopping, garage sales and time spent with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 28 years, John Messaros of Vermilion; daughters, Beverly Abel-Zimmerman of Vermilion and Kathie Messaros of Vermilion; son, Ron Abel of Vermilion; 17 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; sisters, Evelyn Wilfong of Mansfield and Barbara Carpenter of Cambridge; brother, David Callihan of Cambridge. She was preceded-in-death by her parents, William and Bessie (nee Calloway) Callihan, daughter, Karen Thach and brother, Bill Callihan. Friends may call Monday, January 22, 2007 from 2-4 pm and 7 pm until the time of service at 8 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. The service will be co-officiated by Brother James Browning and Brother Samuel Browning, pastors of Believers Spoken Word Tabernacle in Sheffield Lake.
