Linwood T. 'Bill' Pierce

Linwood T. "Bill" Pierce, age 85, of Lorain died suddenly Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at Mercy Regional Medical Center. He was born May 19, 1927 in Richmond, Virginia and had been a Lorain area resident for the past 54 years. He graduated from the University of Missouri. Linwood was an accountant and owner of several local businesses, including Duskey Brothers' Gas Station. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during W.W. II. He was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Amvets Post #0047, Elks Post # 1301, The American Legion Post #0030 and The Heritage Foundation. His hobbies included traveling to Wiliamsburg, Virginia Beach, and St. Augustine, and spending time at his summer cottage. Linwood was preceded in death by his wife Anita (nee Duskey), May 19, 2002 (married 45 years), his daughter Virginia and parents Linwood Sr. and Pearl (nee Napier) Pierce. He is survived by his daughters Kathryn Pierce of Lorain, Suzanne (Rob) Wallace of Traverse City, MI, and step-grandson Danny (Betsy) Wallace of GlenBurnie, MD and step-great-grandson Orion Wallace of GlenBurnie, MD and sister Kathryn Teabo of Richmond, VA, Friends and family are invited to a Memorial Mass which will be conducted Saturday October 20th at 11:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church 418 W. 15th St., Lorain. Following the services, friends and family will be received at the house. The family suggests memorial contributions to your local military veteran charity.
