Lois M. 'Faithful Servant' Baxter

Lois Baxter, 99, of Vermilion went to heaven to be with her savior, Jesus, on Monday, December 8, 2014 at Stein Hospice Center, Sandusky. She was born June 3, 1915 in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of the late Dan and Mabel Vogler. Lois was a woman of prayer and a vibrant worshiper of her Lord. She loved to sing, and in her youth sang with two of her church friends in a trio. She was a dental assistant in Cleveland and also in Vermilion for Dr. Stack. She worked with children in Toledo at the Louella Cummings School and in Cleveland at the Andrews School for Girls. She was a lifetime member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, and a resident of Beulah Beach. Lois is survived by her daughter Beverly Flanders (Gary) of Ashland, Ohio and sons Rev. David Baynes (Dorothy) of Vermilion, Ohio and Paul Baynes (Marcia) of Espanola, New Mexico, and step-daughter Maureen Baxter of Lexington, Kentucky, seven grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death in 1947 by her first husband the Rev. Mark Baynes, and in 1989 by her second husband Kenneth T. Baxter, parents Dan and Mabel Vogler, brother Robert Vogler and sister Carolyn Jones. A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Vermilion E & R Church, 752 Grand Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Private burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Berlin Heights, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given for the new worship center at Beulah Beach.
