Lorene C. Neal

Lorene C. Neal (nee Fletcher), 86, of Vermilion, died Tuesday, April 5, 2005 at her home after a lengthy illness. She was born June 30, 1918 in Rose Bud, Arkansas and has been a Vermilion resident since 1960 moving from Arkansas. She worked for Watkins Products out of Memphis while she was in Arkansas and worked in the Day Care Center of Lakeview Baptist Church, Vermilion. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Birmingham, where she participated in the Women's Missionary Union and the ladies Sunday School classes. She enjoyed flowers, traveling and spending time with her family. Survivors include 4 sons: Billy K. Neal of Vermilion, James D. Neal of Shepherdsville, KY, Phillip S. Neal of Birmingham, and Vicky Neal of Vermilion, 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Preceding her in death were her husband Oliver Neal on Sept. 9, 1989; parents, Snowden Albert Fletcher and Ida Mae (nee Martindale) Booth; son, Wilford Leon Neal in 1959 and a great great grandchild. Graveside services will be held Monday April 11, 2005 at 10 a.m. in Gum Springs Cemetery, Searcy, Arkansas. Contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church, 5918 State Rt. 60, Birmingham 44816.
